The Procurement Intern will work closely with the Procurement team to assist functions of the department. This individual will monitor supply pricing, update increases to existing items and report out on data.

Position Responsibilities:  
•    Assist to procure materials which support manufacturing production needs for assigned commodities, with focus on attaining best market price and on-time delivery to need date. 
•    Relay all customer quality requirements to the suppliers based on the Quality Requirement (QR) Clauses defined by the commodity and project contract Purchase Order Quality Clauses spelled out on all Purchase Orders  
•    Review scheduled delivery date information and associated changes in vendor delivery commitments against planner provided need dates or shortage reports.  
•    Communicate any material acquisition issues that may impact schedules to the planner, the program manager and other project team members as required. 
•    Work with program engineering and the program manager to mitigate obsolescence issues with materials and drives for a successful resolution.   
•    Maintain purchase orders (PO) and bid documentation to support customer and ISO audits.  
•    Work with the planner to request material excessing due to part availability issues.   
•    Drive suppliers to mitigate minimum buys and reduce lead times.   
•    Initiate dialogue with suppliers on all vendor performance reviews and other pertinent issues. Creates an open environment for exchange of ideas to insure continuous quality and on-time delivery improvement.  
•    Performs other duties as assigned to support business goals and objectives.

Skills & Abilities:
•    Strong numerical and analytic reasoning capability. 
•    Good, strong written and oral communications skills 
•    Superior organizational skills. 
•    Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization. 
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel / Word, ERP systems, and databases 

Qualifications:
•    Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program for Business, Supply Chain or related field.

Work Environment:
•    Office Environment:   Requires physical capability to work in an office environment including sit/stand up to 9 hours a day and use basic office tools such as a computer, copier/printer, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 
•    Hours: 7:00 AM – 5 PM Monday – Thursday; Friday 7:00 AM – 4 PM with additional hours as needed to meet demand. Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations. 
•    9/80 work schedule.
•    Office located in Lititz, PA, with occasional visited to Lancaster facility.
