2022 IT Summer Internship - Converged Infrastructure - Linux - INF001629 Looking for an internship next summer? We are offering an internship within our IT - Network Visibility Systems group next summer for our program that will run from June 6th to August 12th in 2022 in our Schaumburg, IL or Knoxville, TN locations. This internship is part of our Converged Infrastructure Linux team. Below are the brief details of this 10-week opportunity next summer. Converged Infrastructure - Linux The Converged Infrastructure team at UScellular is seeking a summer intern for their Schaumburg, IL or Knoxville, TN locations that will work under the guidance of a senior systems engineers to learn development and administration skills and gain hands-on experience. The system engineer intern will be primarily responsible for documentation and perform server administration tasks, building physical / virtual servers, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly. All qualified candidates who are interested in one or all three of the internship opportunities described above are encouraged to apply Requirements Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field. Experience with standard MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Strong analytical skills coupled with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required Ability to participate and work well in cross-functional teams Excellent presentation and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Previous internship(s) in systems administration/engineering, systems support, or relevant training / experience highly preferred. Excellent analytical skills in the areas of incident management and problem-solving. Familiarity with applications running on Linux server environments and with focus on automation of tasks. Script (Bash and or Python) development experience or relevant training. Ability to handle pressure and time constraint. Self-motivated, curious with desire to continually learn and grow in production support function. Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize production incidents. Location Requirements This internship will be offered only in our Schaumburg, IL or Knoxville, TN locations. No housing or living expenses provided with this internship.
