Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking a Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE). The Director of CTE assists and supports the Senior Division Head of School, Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and the Senior Division Principal in planning, developing, and daily operations of MHS's top-notch Career Technical Program. MHS's Career Technical Program ensures that all 900 plus high school students graduate with a high degree of career readiness. This readiness is developed through full student body participation in high quality career exploration and planning, experiential opportunities throughout their high school experience, and ensuring that all graduates have one or more work certifications. There are 12 career concentrations that students may choose from and over 80 certifications available to them.
MHS's Career and Technical Education Program is a key facet of the school's strategic plan with a commitment to deliver relevant, experiential education and individualized learning pathways to prepare students, pre-K-12, for career success in a changing world. This commitment includes plans to aggressively build upon existing programs to ensure all students have real-world, career-based opportunities and are provided a "school without walls" education to prepare them for post-secondary success.
The CTE Director supervises and evaluates both full and part-time Career and Technical faculty and staff of over 20 employees. This role oversees the scope and sequence, instruction, and evaluative practices within the Career and Technical Curriculum on a school-wide basis. The Director also coordinates partnerships with accreditation agencies, CTE youth organizations, professional/trade organizations, advisory committees, and employers that support the mission of the program.
The Director is to research and coordinate the expansion of the Career Technical Program offerings in the Senior Division to include accelerated learning opportunities. Additionally, the Director coordinates vertical curriculum articulation and experiential learning opportunities with the Elementary and Middle School, and post-secondary institutions.
Other duties include creating and implementing course schedules that support success for teachers and students. Additional components include budgetary oversight, staff professional development, and assisting with special projects.
