Appleton Eye Associates was established in 1973, with its first location in Newburyport. As a well-respected business in the community, the practice has grown to five different locations throughout the North Shore of Massachusetts-Newburyport, Amesbury, Ipswich, North Reading, and South Hamilton. The practice offers full-service optometry and medical eye care to patients of all ages, visual and medical diagnoses. With a focus on patient-centric care, the professionals offer specialties in ocular diseases, dry eye therapy, and specialty contact lens fittings. To support business growth and expansion to a sixth location while preserving the legacy of Appleton Eye Associates, the business is looking for an Optometrist to join a team of 23 professionals.

Appleton Eye Associates is at the forefront of advanced diagnostic technology and vision correction products to diagnose and treat a wide array of ocular conditions. Each location features a full suite of optometric technology including, Optovue OCT-A, Optos Daytona, Octopus VF, Lumenis IPL, Nidek, Essilor camera, FDT CVF, and Marco Digital and Manual Phoroptors with auto-refractors/keratometers. Patients enjoy a family-friendly shopping experience as they browse a wide selection of fashionable eyewear and designer frames from the optical boutique-the Opticians are always ready to provide top-notch service to help patients find the perfect pair of frames. Plus, the practice carries an array of contact lenses that include daily disposables, extended wear soft lenses, and gas permeable contact lenses.

About the Optometrist Opening

Appleton Eye Associates is seeking a part-time or full-time Optometrist well-versed in optometric care and a passion for providing excellent eye health and vision care for all patients. You'll perform full-scope optometry in accordance with Massachusetts state standards. A support staff will perform pre-testing, examination support, and other duties, enabling you to focus on patient care-patients are scheduled every 30 minutes. A candidate experienced in additional ocular specialties or an interest in specialty contact lenses or vision therapy will be an asset to the team.

The practice is looking for an outgoing and friendly Optometrist motivated to succeed in private practice with quality patient care the main objective. As Massachusetts has expanded the therapeutic capabilities of Optometrists to include glaucoma medications and oral medications, you'll have the opportunity to extend these capabilities to patients. Minimum qualifications include:

  • Optometry license in the state of Massachusetts
