SUMMARY:

Andersen Storm Door Division is seeking a Director of Operations to lead multiple manufacturing operations. A director of operations will develop and execute an inclusive overall site strategy that address the needs of multiple product lines in collaboration with regional and Enterprise and business leaders. The purpose of this position includes ensuring safety always remains the top priority, direct and indirect leadership of manufacturing, supply chain, and operations support functions.

The ideal candidate for this position will an experienced strategic thinking individual who possesses confidence, initiative, and has the ability to lead and develop a high-performance team with high levels of employee engagement morale, satisfaction, and performance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transform safety culture on a path to zero injuries through development, implementation, and management of safety best practices.
  • Achieve optimal results for safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth through strategic plan execution, continuous improvement, communication, and people leadership development.
  • Be highly visible to associates and create a safe and inclusive environment for participation.
  • Maintain healthy employee relations in managed business section by seeing that policies and procedures are communicated, understood, and applied in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Promote active/hands-on Lean tiered management approach and promote Andersen Management System (AMS) approaches to problem solving.
  • Plan, execute and foster a lean culture of leadership to optimize our Storm Door manufacturing processes.
  • Facilitate the setting of strategic and tactical direction and projects for direct and indirect teams (manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, logistics, maintenance, quality, IT, HR, finance, OPD/engineering, Lean AMS) that provide the customer improved process/product quality, service/support and realized efficiencies.
  • Develop and execute resource plans that include production and capacity planning, inventory management practices, integrated process and information systems, people and capital resource planning, and established long range site plans to insure the proper balances between Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and employee engagement for multiple sub-plant operations.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to a group of technical leaders, process engineers, and technicians. Develop and commercialize new and enhance existing processes in support of new and on-going product development initiatives to ensure stable and capable technologies, processes, and applications.
  • Partner across the Andersen Enterprise to develop strategies, solutions, and implementation timelines which will enable delivery of high-quality products, on time, at a competitive cost structure in support of multiple product lines.
  • Participate in development activities to maximize asset utilization and operational profit.
  • Serve as a member of the Storm Door Business Unit Senior Leadership team in directing and leading all aspects of the Storm Door business unit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of directly related manufacturing leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree or greater in engineering, manufacturing, business
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a high-performance organization
  • Knowledge of Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply Chain Management
  • Strong leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, listening, and people development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Business acumen & knowledge in budgeting, cost accounting, Plan/Source/Make/Deliver analysis, lean manufacturing principles, six sigma, and strategic planning.

SALARY INFORMATION:

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. In addition to your pay, Andersen Corporation currently offers benefits such as comprehensive health benefits, 401k contribution, paid time off, 8 paid standard holidays, plus 2 floating holidays, a robust employee Wellbeing program, as well as profit sharing (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
