Essential Functions:

• Performs complex data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies related to ethics and compliance processes, including investigations data.
• Evaluates existing data sources and implements practices for acquiring, preparing, and analyzing structured and unstructured data that will provide insights into compliance risks and opportunities.
• Evaluates regulatory requirements and changes, identifies target data to test adherence with these requirements, analyzes results, and works with people leader to present findings and provide insights to business leaders.
• Performs data analysis to identify root cause of potential non-compliance, recommends process improvements to close gaps, and develops solutions to monitor ongoing compliance.
• Fulfills ad hoc data requests from regulatory agencies or bureaus, ensuring timely and accurate provision of information in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborates with IT to integrate compliance data requirements into transactional systems to enhance analysis and reporting capabilities.
• Stays abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to ethics and compliance and incorporates this knowledge into analytical approaches.
• Builds and maintains relevant reporting for key compliance and data governance processes, providing actionable insights to the Audit Committee, senior leadership, and stakeholders.
• Leads research, development, analysis, and implementation of special data projects impacting Compliance and Data Governance.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, economics, finance, or related field or equivalent relevant experience
• Eight years of experience in data analysis or insurance analytics or related experience
• Experience developing best practices, policies, and/or procedures
• Previous Agile or Jira experience preferred
• Previous experience in the insurance industry preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent proficiency in database querying and programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python
• Excellent experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or MicroStrategy
• Excellent understanding of relational databases, data models, and data integration processes
• Strong understanding of insurance regulations, especially filing of rates, rules, coverage forms and endorsements
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of insurance reporting bureaus and state requirements preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to work effectively within a team setting as well as independently
• Understanding of data science discipline
