Job Summary: Develops, manages and mentors platform engineering and operations teams providing direction, oversight, training and guidance. Responsible for delivering and supporting platform, system and infrastructure solutions, including design, architecture, development oversight, and coordination with other engineering functions to deliver the overall solution. Supports, advises, and implements industry operational best practices. Manages technical projects and programs, working closely with product owners, platform engineers and cross functional technical teams to develop and track release milestones and schedule.

Essential Functions:

  • Establishes, drives and executes team roadmap by planning, tracking, and monitoring priorities for the team in collaboration with product teams, Technology Leadership and business units
  • Collaborates with team members to establish performance goals and monitors status, conducts performance reviews, and provides coaching
  • Aligns organizational goals, practices, and projects with enabling technology to support technology strategy
  • Works closely with leaders to understand the service requirements of customers and other key stakeholders and delivers IT strategies and solutions to meet or exceed expectations
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality, best pricing, delivery, and timeliness
  • Manages team financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, and scheduling expenditures. Analyzes variances and implements corrective action
  • Incorporates site reliability and sustainability into all aspects of work, including providing guidance on how solutions are implemented throughout the team and creates team standards
  • Advises on high quality software engineering and/or DevOps practices towards developing infrastructure and pipelines

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or management information systems or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Ten yearsof experience incloud infrastructure,DevOps, application development or enterprise systems infrastructure
  • Prior supervisory experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure and platform technologies, such as Windows, Linux, AWS, Azure, O365, Networking and Data Center Infrastructure
  • Exceptional understanding of architectural artifacts such as logical diagrams, data flow diagrams, and infrastructure diagrams
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent project management and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across a variety of audiences, both technical and nontechnical
  • Excellent ability to lead the introduction and adoption of modern ecosystems with constantly evolving customer expectations
  • Excellent ability to influence and drive solution designs, architecture, and engineering decisions
  • Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar programming skills
  • Strong knowledge of container management systems such as ECS or Kubernetes
  • Excellent database management knowledge, including Amazon RDS
  • Strong understanding of networking and Internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks
  • Strong knowledge of holistic system security
