Bankers Trust is seeking a Commercial Lending Associate to support our Ames, Iowa (and Regional) Clients.

Job Summary:

The Commercial Lending Associate II position will independently coordinate the documentation, booking, and funding of commercial credits in addition to providing ongoing portfolio support to customers and Commercial Relationship Managers. This position will also serve as an escalation point for more complex documentation requests, booking and service-related issues as well as assisting with basic training and continuing education opportunities for the CLA team.

The Commercial Lending Associate III may directly or indirectly support the CLA I and CLA II positions and would be the first point of escalation for complex issues, in addition to displaying an advanced understanding of the documentation, booking, and funding processes of commercial loans. Possessing advanced understanding of commercial loan documentation is an integral part of the position. The CLA III position will also provide portfolio support to customers and Commercial Relationship Managers. This position will serve as an operational and technical resource for the CLA team, provide training for new team members. This position performs work with a high degree of latitude and handles the most complex issues while possessing an expert knowledge of subject matter.

Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:

The Commercial Lending Associate II

* Coordinate simple to moderately complex Laser Pro, attorney prepared, and syndicated loan documents, bookings, and fundings.

* Independently, and with minimal recurring questions, review credit approval and compile documents required to complete entity verification, assigned due diligence, and the loan documentation request

* Prior to closing, provide an in-depth review of the loan documents before giving them to the commercial relationship manager. Such a review should ensure that the terms contained in the approval and loan documents are in sync. Discrepancies should be addressed and resolved.

* Review signed loan document package to ensure all documents are present and accurately executed. Ensure the loan is properly funded and booked following to bank procedure.

* Research and resolve moderate to complex documentation related issues.

* At the request of the commercial relationship manager, independently coordinate with the borrower and all third-party resources to obtain all necessary documentation to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and bank credit policy.

* Independently perform more advanced loan portfolio maintenance. Facilitate the collection and review of post-closing documentation, address and clear all loan related exceptions, complete necessary lien filings to ensure collateral is properly secured, complete various maintenance related tasks as assigned.

* At the direct request of either the customer or commercial relationship manager, timely and accurately respond to all types of customer requests including, but not limited to, payments, advances, wire transfers, and documentation requests.

* Attend scheduled lending team sales/pipeline meetings. Proactively participate and hold accountable team members to agreed upon processes and procedures.

* Represent CLA group in intra-departmental meetings as needed.

* Other duties as assigned by an established direct or indirect supervisor/manager which may be varied in scope depending on the assigned office environment.

The Commercial Lending Associate III

* Independently coordinate complex Laser Pro, attorney prepared, and specialty lending loan documents, bookings, and funding requests accurately and according to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

* Demonstrate knowledge of specialty lending groups and products such as leases, ESOP, syndications, participations, and SBA credits

* Display an advanced understanding of established outside bank regulations (Reg B, HMDA, Flood, CRA, etc.) and internal policies/procedures related to commercial lending, to include, but not limited to, loan documentation, booking, file retention, and various customer service requests.

* Independently review credit approval and compile documents required to complete entity verification, assigned due diligence, and loan documentation request. Provide guidance to CLA I & II regarding questions each may have in performing the same task.

* Proactively work with commercial relationship manager and commercial portfolio manager to understand all aspects of a complex credit (pre & post approval) lead the creation and execution of a plan to obtain and review all related due diligence in pursuit of the final loan document package.

* Review signed loan document package to ensure all documents are present and accurately executed. Work with Operations Team to ensure the loan is properly funded and booked following bank procedure.

* Research and resolve complex documentation related issues.

* At the request of the commercial relationship manager, independently coordinate with the borrower and all third-party resources to obtain all necessary documentation to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and bank credit policy.

* Independently perform more advanced loan portfolio maintenance. Education and/or Experience:

The Commercial Lending Associate II

* High School diploma or GED preferred

* 4 - 6 years experience preferred

* At least 3 years of Business or Commercial lending experience required

* Deposit or treasury related experience preferred, but not required

The Commercial Lending Associate III

* High School diploma or GED preferred

* 6-8 years experience preferred

* At least five years of Business or Commercial lending experience required

* Experience with commercial and industrial (C&I), asset-based lending, and commercial real estate credits preferred

* Deposit or treasury related experience preferred, but not required

* Leadership experience preferred, but not required

* Specialty lending experience preferred, but not required

Hiring Salary Range

The hiring range below reflects targeted base salary. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's prior related experience & education and will be finalized at the time of offer. In addition to base salary, most positions are also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program. Select positions may also be eligible to earn incentives and/or commissions.

CLA II Hiring Salary Range: $23.00 - $27.00 (Annualized at 40 hours per week: $47,840 - $56,160)

CLA III Hiring Salary Range: $26.00 - $30.00 (Annualized at 40 hours per week: $54,080 - $62,400)
