Overview

UnityPoint Health- Marshalltown

Full time; 32 hours per week; 4-8 hour shifts or (4) 6.5 hour shifts & (1) 6 hour shift; Employee can pick hours anytime between 7am-5:30pm; Day shift, Monday-Friday, No Call, No Holiday & No Weekends

Eligible for $20,000 Sign-On Bonus paid over 3 years!

A Cardiac sonographer is under the direction of the Supervisor of Diagnostic Imaging, is responsible for performing echocardiograms that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.

Responsibilities

Perform quality Echocardiograms on Outpatients, ER patients and Inpatients.

Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.

Creates an environment that promotes staff empowerment. Displays creativity and innovation when making recommendations for improvement in the delivery of services to the hospital.

Collaborates with physicians and other health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Responsible to maintain current professional expertise. Promotes personal and professional growth among coworkers. Exhibits discretion and sound judgment in all aspects of the job.

Collaborating with the Assigned Supervisor, effectively resolves complex unit situations, such as patient complaints and crises

Researches and recommends short and long term strategies to meet the patient care needs. Assists with the achievement of objectives and necessary modifications for attainment of goals

Represents UnityPoint Health (UPH) in a professional manner. Promotes positive interpersonal relations and serves as a role model within the department and with hospital personnel.

Understands correct machine settings to produce accurate appearing images.

Selects technical factors and imaging modes.

Informs supervisor or calls for service in absence of supervisor when needed.


Qualifications

License(s)/Certification(s):

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or registry eligible sonographer who will obtain registry within two years of start date.
