Job Description

Midwest Veterinary Supply is seeking an Inside Sales Support Clerk for our Norristown, Pennsylvania location.

Job Summary:

Provide key support allowing Inside Sales Representatives more time for clinic interaction. This position includes a relative amount of internal and external customer communications. Clerical functions include order processing, return processing, running reports and mailings.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain filing system, coordinate promotions, and view and release internet orders for Inside Sales Representatives that are out of the office.
  • Answers phones when necessary, supply blitz accounts with promotional information, and enter orders. Assist as directed with faxing, gathering literature, and making and distributing copies.
  • Handle all returns/credits/credit rebills/mis-ships/Purina. Email credits to appropriate Manager. Make sure that each and every return/credit is approved by Manager before issuing it. Calling manufactures regarding their return policy to see if the product is returnable. Creating the RA, call tag and sending them to the customer via email, fax or mail
  • Cover for the Receptionist when they are on lunch, on break or out of the office.
  • Check orders and expiration dates and gather product information from the warehouse for the Inside Sales Representatives.
  • Company Status's- Checking the entire companies "A" status throughout the day. If there is an order that is still in "A" status, email the ISR to advise them of the situation.
  • Track orders for ISR's via carrier websites.
  • Assist Team Lead and Inside Sales Supervisor with reports, goal tracking, spiff tracking, scheduling conference rooms and LSR meetings.
  • Invoice all cool tool orders monthly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required for full time employees
  • No experience required
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Basic computer skills, ability to operate a Windows-based computer and data entry
  • Ability to differentiate details related to product codes and descriptions (such as verifying a string of numbers)
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages.
  • Ability to work well with others and independently

  • Attention to detail to assure accuracy for presentation of material
  • Regular interaction with people
  • Daily deadlines may result in a fast pace of work and stress
  • Continuous use of hands for writing and use of computer keyboard, working with a relevant volume of data to include alpha and numeric detail
  • Continuous use of a computer monitor requiring close vision
  • Ability to use a telephone - listening and speaking
  • Ability to work at a desk throughout the day
  • Ability to occasionally sort boxes of printed material weighing up to 35 pounds

Equipment Used:

Regularly uses typical office equipment including computer keyboard and terminal, telephone, fax and copier.


Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in an office environment Monday through Friday. Working more than 40 hours per workweek may be required. Weekend availability required rarely. Occasional local and/or overnight travel may be required rarely.
