Job Summary

Work Shift

1 - First Shift

Are you the type of detail-oriented person who takes pride in ensuring that product quality meets precise specifications? In this role you will manually measure production and purchased parts to validate their accuracy to Vermeer standards. We're looking for someone who will problem-solve and partner with both management and engineering staff to resolve a wide array of quality and manufacturing issues.

What You'll Do

1. Accurately interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and solid models.

2. Utilize GD&T knowledge to apply those principles during CMM operation and report interpretation.

3. Qualify, calibrate, verify equipment accuracy, program and operate portable measuring arms, laser tracker, 3D scanner, optical comparator or vision system and bridge CMM equipment.

4. Verify accuracy and measure part features with handheld inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauge, bore gauge, angle finder, go no-go gauges, etc.

5. Collaborate and effectively communicate with team members responsible for fixture design, equipment programming, welding, and product engineering.

6. Collect and communicate data through a variety of software and user interfaces including MS Excel, Quality SPC software, and Database data entry.

7. Communicate out-of-tolerance findings, investigate their root cause, and provide recommendations for improvement.

What We're Looking For

- Associate degree in Machine Technology or related field, preferred.

- Minimum of three years of previous experience in inspection and testing, quality assurance, or statistical analysis; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

- Experience working with quality inspection processes, engineering blueprints, engineering change notices, work instructions.

Travel

- Occasional travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

ONSITE: A team member's day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
