Home Delivery Assistant

This position is responsible for assisting the Home Delivery Driver in inspecting, loading, delivering merchandise to customers in a manner that is consistent with our mission statement and company guidelines, in a safe, accurate manner.
 

• Responsible for the daily implementation of the corporate mission statement and the principles of VOP.

• Follow all instructions given by the driver regarding merchandise to be delivered and returned on a specific truck during the shift.

• Assist the driver in loading merchandise for day's scheduled deliveries onto truck in a safe and efficient manner.

• Properly rewrap returned merchandise and reload onto trucks.

• Throughout delivery process, re-shift load to secure for a safe and organized transport.

• Unload at end of day and place merchandise in proper areas of the warehouse.

• Provide assistance to driver in performing actual deliveries into customers' homes with responsibilities that include: Treatment of customers and their homes that is consistent with the corporate mission statement, VOP principles, and other established guidelines at all times.

• Remove all wrapping material, packaging, tie downs, and other waste generated from the delivery from the customers' home.

• Follow any specific directives issued by driver and store regarding actual work to be done at the home during the delivery or pick up.

• This includes minor rearranging of existing furniture, pickup of old mattress, completion of necessary paperwork, etc.
